The sun sets on another day…
The sunset is striking, calling color from every little place to every place it can. The skies are lit up like spring tulips. Then like a flash, the sun is gone in the lingering clouds.
It is probably a little silly, but sometimes people are like the seasons. Wandering in and out of your life and changing everything only to be gone again a short time later. Well, a relatively short time. sometimes it is weeks, sometimes years, but it can be like a season.
I ask myself why sometimes. I was musing of all the people I know and have known. It started at dozens, then hundreds, then far far more. Some have been in my life for a long time, some a short time, and some waft in and out of my life. Some started with difficulty and became positives. Some started positively, and became a difficulty, the point is as they wandered in and out of my life it was a ride I would not give up, yet a ride that changed like the seasons. In the end, I am thankful for those that I have known a long time, and those I have known only a short time. I miss some who were in my life, and some I do not.
Maybe the secret is like spring, finding the good in life and letting it grow, and culling these that are gone. Perhaps the best life, is a life with people from all the times in your life, and the memories to fill in between.
Consider for a moment. Is you life full of seasons, or is your life a constant? What makes the people in your life special, and what pushes some away? Are you who you want to be? Are they who you want them to be? No matter how you slice it make today that day you make them feel special. Make today a day you are that person keeping the days good days. Be a shining example of how life needs to be. Be an example of how people should be.
So as the sun sets on another day, people come, people go, and you are stuck with yourself, err. That’s not right. People come and people go, but you are the determiner! Make your days the greatest they can be, and enjoy the people around you, no matter what.
