The sun sets on another day…
I watched sunset from the top of a hill and smiled as the clouds battled with the western sky. There could be no doubt that night would fall, but the sky was spectacular and made me smile.
T’was the night before Christmas and I’m on a mission while JoAnn fabrics beckons for the solution. Visions of happiness dance across my eyes as last minute shoppers slip left and right. I found my mission, clearance nonetheless, and laughed with everyone I could at this happy place. And when i was done, my shopping complete, i smiled at all the great people I met. It was good.
As I walked the aisles i met a bunch of great people and two stood out. The first was expecting family tomorrow and just browsing as I was at the store. Nothing in particular but they were engaged and excited about life. It is always a gift to meet someone who is so engaged with life there is no doubt with their positivity and the wonderful impact they have on the world. It is my expectation this person does and will make a difference to everyone they meet.
The second person thought they knew me and we laughed together and enjoyed kind words. They were more than positive and we talked about writing, and was turned down previously. I told them to write and will help them along and not let them get taken by the system. We laughed and giggled and compared stories, and interacted with others including a dynamic cashier and fantastic floor person. It was a good Christmas eve. As I left I gave out all the business cards I had left, and smiled knowing that there are good people in the world.
Who have you found in the world that makes your day? If a random stranger talks to you, do you walk away, or engage? Are people worth the time? Are you worth the time to them? I hope so. I can only hope you make a difference to others and others make a difference to you. In the end it is our relationships that mater. In the end it is people that change the world.
So as the sun sets on another day, engage with people, reach out and maybe the world can become a better place if we let it. Don’t embrace the fear of the negativity of the world but instead let’s work together to find happiness, love, passion, and excitement in every moment. Let’s make some memories and help people laugh, smile, or at least have a little better day. Oh, and Robin from Alabama, keep being super each day, enjoy your family tomorrow, and have some fun, no matter what.
