The sun sets on another day…
I’m continually fascinated by sunset, and tonight was no different. As I sat in a restaurant in Ada, MI I watched people mill around a dynamic downtown as the colors of the setting sky lit them up with hues of red, yellow, and orange.
People in front of me are rushing around, filling their bags with goods. Dozens of people dressed like fashion models wander, talking to each other about who knows what. This is the scene I saw only a few hours ago with very little exception. Inside, one worker dashed from table to table trying to make customers happy, and still, people milled around everywhere.
I wondered about all the things they were thinking; I wonder how the excitement in their lives. There were many things to consider, and some of these people were likely getting ready for enough and more. As I wondered, I remembered all the people at home enjoying their lives. Some watch television, some enjoy a game or two, and some just watch nature and laugh at its antics.
At the end of the day, it is enough. It is enough that we enjoy the company of other people. It is enough that we stay at home, or we go out. It is enough for us to enjoy our lives in the best way that we can. Now that doesn’t mean we should lie to ourselves and say “I’m fine with what I have” when we don’t mean it, and it doesn’t mean that we should hide in a cave in the Appalachian Mountains avoiding people as we claim to be some new label about not liking people. What it does mean is no matter what you’re doing if you are doing it for the right reason, it is enough.
Find your path, make it a good one, and make it enough.
So as the sun sets on another day only you are responsible for yourself. Make your life the best that it can be, but don’t let anyone else choose your life for you. Instead, live every moment to the best of your ability, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and it is enough…
