The sun sets on another day…
In a complex system, like let’s say weather, we find that strange side effects are caused by sometimes hidden issues. Something that looks pretty straightforward can actually be caused by the most minimal of items. Let’s take the chaos example so many people use where a butterfly flapping its wings in the US can cause a storm in China. Sounds ridiculous but the smallest effect can have a larger effect on a global whole. We see this every night as sunset falls upon us and the colors are never the same, mostly because of variations in the atmosphere. (Boring I bet, but I do have a point)
So too are the factors in our lives that are caused by near ridiculous items. I know that I shower at least once daily and wash my hair often because of an off the cuff comment from a junior high school classmate who said something insensitive. I also know that I affected a young lady with a perm in high school in a negative manner and did not learn this until last year when I saw her in a store, she still will never have a perm. People fear the number 13 because of a legend, and bet on a favorite number because they saw it several times earlier in life. The point is a small item can cause a major effect in our lives and a large item can later be devastating or satisfying. There are so many possible outcomes.
Hope is surely not lost and we are not slaves to some unidentified item.. We do have a choice, and that choice is to accept and change our actions with the knowledge of how we interact with the world. It is a task but we can accept those things that try to negatively affect us, change those we can, and overcome those we cannot. Never let the negatives get to you at any time. (I have dozens of songs I could quote, but some of them cannot be repeated in a PG environment). We have the ability and the power to take a deep breath, and weather the storm, no matter what.
So as the sun sets on another day lift yourself above anything holding you back and find the courage to be a shining light for all to see, and if you can’t, find someone help you to that level while remembering all the good in your life. Remember there are always people out there willing to help and be there for you, each and every day. Try to be there for others in the same way and we will move forward positively, positively. (Like how I did that?)
