Priceless passion…

The sun sets on another day…

There are people all over the world that measure their success by money. I know I know, we all do to an extent so we can ensure our survival, our well being, our children’s well being and a host of other platitudes that ensure our present and future.

So what is the cost of time? Time cannot be replaced nor bought, nor sold, nor made any better or worse by anything we do. Time just is, and continues, independent of us. Is there anything as precious as time?

In my opinion, passion is as precious as time. There can be no replacement for the loss of time, and by the same token the loss of passion can never be replaced. I know I overthink when it comes to passion, but I honestly feel that to be complete, you need a balance of many things in life, and one of them is passion.

Perhaps this is on my mind because last night while watching TV for a short time I once again watched NCIS. For those of you that don’t watch it there was a hidden love between two people that was both strong and timeless. In the episode I watched one of the two made a decision to find another way, and set herself aside. As the man tried to be flippant she said “you are so…” and his interjected answers were comical, but protecting himself. Her reply to them all was to shake her head and just say quietly, “loved.”

As he walked away backwards from the most passionate yet tender kiss you will ever see on television he stated, “hardest 180 I will ever do” and finally turned and got on his plane, allowing her to find her way, but hoping beyond all hopes that someday she would find that way back to him. That type of passion is priceless. If you have it, hold onto it, never let it go as it is more rare than the most expensive trappings. If you want it, hold on, keep your eyes open as it will find you when you are not looking. If you lost it, walked away, made that 180 or made someone make that 180, what you may have lost is priceless as well, but may not ever be truly lost. Lastly, if you don’t have it and don’t want it, all I can say is I am sorry.

So as the sun sets on another day, smile and live for passion, smile and love for life, make a difference every day to someone, and when someone reaches out their hand, take it and hold on forever…no matter what.

Find a way…

The sun sets on another day…

Today we have a sunset picture in the fog and mist, reminiscent of Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield.

It is always amazing to consider the number of songs that just might fit how you are feeling right now. If you are happy there are literally hundreds of songs that describe your mood, sad, hundreds more, melancholy, still even more, willing to eat melon with a collie, well i have’t found that one but I am sure it is out there.

I am constantly amazed by the fact that somewhere out there someone may be going through something similar to you, and even worse (gasp) me!

In that same line of thought (If there is a line to thought) so many people have said there are few new stories in life, and I would challenge there are currently fewer new songs, and even fewer new movies. (After all, they are all “reboots”) But wait, perhaps I am wrong. (As happens a lot) perhaps there is a new story every moment and that story could be the story that is more touching than the Notebook, more awe inspiring than Avatar, more interesting than the Harry Potter Series, and more timeless than Star Wars. Maybe it is time for everyone to document their story, and make it a reality.

My point is, it is time to create a new story and do something new, we may feel the same, but our stories are so different. Often we do what is expected, the norm, or something that truly follows some ordained path, but maybe it is time for some new paths. A path towards passion, happiness, and the honest beauty of the sunset. After all, instead of a bouquet of flowers, shouldn’t we build a bouquet of sunsets that will never fade and make us all amazed at their beauty for all time?

Anyway, love life, live life, and make today your own, and take the time and make tomorrow yours as well, life is worth it, no matter what….

And now for something completely different…I have changed the podcast to weekly because it is just too much to do daily. You can find it here.

Simply another happy day…

The sun sets on another day…

Each day we make a choice to be happy or not so happy, or of course a pain in the bottom. Each day we make the decision. One more time, each day WE make the decision. There is no one in the world that can truly make you happy, on the other hand, there is no one in the world that can truly make you unhappy. You give each person the power to affect you, one way or another. It is imperative that each person on the face of this planet somehow understand that no matter how bad things are, you can be a positive person, and by the same token, no matter how good things are you can still be unhappy.

This is a personal choice. We can create situations that make you unhappier, or happier, but nothing can truly set the tone or take over our lives but us.

I once knew a woman that had nothing, (and I mean nothing) but she was one of the happiest people I ever met. At church she was always positive and volunteered, tithed (even though she never had money) and made the world a better place by being in it. She defined herself daily by who she wanted to be, and when people put her down she shrugged it off like an elephant would a mosquito. I heard someone ask her how poor she was once, and she said simply, “She was rich in life.”

I also have known several people who were well off, and had everything that most people dream of, and are the most miserable people you could meet. One man in particular I know has a beautiful house, wonderful children, an amazing wife, and more money in the bank than most. Is he happy? Absolutely not. He continuously looks like the world is coming to an end, and lives his life without interacting with anyone.

Eeek, I seem to have rattled on.

My point of today, is don’t sweat the petty things, or pet the sweaty things and don’t let others define who you are, instead make every day that day that will be closer to the happiness you deserve (and it is a lot!). Define who you are each day, and as you do, make every day a lesson in happiness.

Sleep sweet, love life, and wish on the farthest star and love your way to it…

Networking in the sun…

The sun sets on another day…

..and we consider how we interact as people.

People? Yes people.

There are lots of things we can call each other, and far too often we do. Some of these things are not so nice, and some are amazing. We have to ask ourselves daily why we would ever talk to someone as less than we are, and why we would accept being less important than we really are to the world. Remember, every day we have an opportunity to make a difference, not just to ourselves, but to the world as a whole. Any moment we might have the opportunity to save a person, or make a person smile, laugh, or see the world in a better way. This is far better than seeing the world as a hindrance, sometimes sad, or as a series of mundane days.

So as the sun sets on another day, and as we meet new people, laugh with them, teach them our point of view and as we learn theirs, let’s also take a moment and make life better for everyone, and in that, feel life flow through us as it should.

Sleep sweet, love life, and make every day so special that you know it will be remembered, no matter what…

Spirit of passion…

The sun sets on another day…

I will apologize upfront if this seems depressing.

Sometimes you just have to feel the spirit and understand that things are or are not meant to be.

I knew a man once that tried to change the world. Everyday he was positive upbeat and made sure that everyone knew that they should be a happy person. Only a few months ago he passed away. His legacy, his family, lives on each day. I am blessed each day to have known him and to have been a part of his life. So as the Sun sets on another day be thankful for those people that you’re with that guide you into a positive avenues and help you see the world in a better way and to all those who knew Jim smile a little and be happy.

Seriously passionate!

The sun sets on another day…

As our sunsets continue to move forward it is important we continue to see the positives in our lives. With each negative is a beautiful positive if we look for it. The terrible thing that may be happening now, may be a doorway into the future, or may not be as bad as we originally thought. There are of course some exceptions, there are people I have lost that I will mourn to the end of time, but I set that aside in favor of what I have learned or what I feel from the experience. I will not feel bad ever for stopping and helping someone stuck in the ditch and ripping my arm apart, because it was a good move to do so and an attempt to help someone.

The point of today is we should be seriously passionate about life, seriously passionate about helping people, seriously passionate about everything. Why go through a single day with the mundane existence that many people commit themselves to daily. If you are shoveling poop in a horse farm, whistle while you work. If you are doing laundry 24×7, enjoy the moments in between and dream of better tides (Soap joke).

So, let’s make this relevant and more fun. Step out and live, hug the person next to you, get slapped, laugh about it, wave at the person when you are driving home, get honked at, laugh, enjoy life, enjoy EVERY moment and live life to its fullest.

I am wishing on the same sunset as you are, even if you can’t see it, so smile with me to the moon and back….and the stars beyond….

The sun sets on another day…

We meet lots of people in the world, some are tall, some are short, some light, some dark, some full of passion and life, and some not so much. It is always wonderful when you meet someone who is full of passion, life, and mystery, and those people are the ones we should all gravitate towards and treat like the special people they are every day. So when you meet someone like that, do not turn away, instead put out your hand, hold on, and enjoy life every day.

Love life, live for each moment, and hold onto passion each and every day…

Amazing days…

the sun sets on another day…

Today is an amazing day because you are in it! When you look at the day, every day, from that perspective you will do well because each day is a potential adventure, a time to live, a time to love, and a time to learn. There is so much out there that can make a difference if you just take a moment and look for it. The special person place you are going to right now may not seem special, but it is wondrous within itself.

One of my favorite movies is the Seven Faces of Dr. Lao and one of my favorite quotes is:

Mike, the whole world is a circus if you look at it the right way. Every time you pick up a handful of dust, and see not the dust, but a mystery, a marvel, there in your hand, every time you stop and think, “I’m alive, and being alive is fantastic!” Every time such a thing happens, Mike, you are part of the Circus of Dr. Lao.

Imagine for just a moment if we could live in that wonderful circus every day. So look deeply into that handful of dirt, and make it a marvel, and while you are at it, live life, love all you can and make every day an amazing one…

10:47? A glimpse of one potential future…

The sun sets on another day…

the future is bright and hopeful like a pleasant sunset. Time grasps us with colors that change each of our days into wonderful images of a future. Before you now is a glimpse of a series of futures. The future of a writer, or a writer who just had fun. No matter what a passion which is undying. Perhaps we all should go forward and live our dreams. I know I have one piece of mine.

Live life, love every moment, and if you feel down ever, just look at the sunset and imagine a future that only you can make, then make it happen…
