The sun sets on another day…
Emily Dickinson once said “To live is so startling it leaves little time for anything else.”
I sat today considering those words, over and over, then I went out and lived.
What did she mean. Did she mean that if you are alive it makes you more alive? Could it be that we have a finite amount of time for anything but living, or is there a larger formula that covers end to end living? How can we know we are living, is it when we have no time?
It is sometimes awe inspiring to consider that the sun that rises and sets on us is the same one in before, and before than, and a little before that, and all the way back to when Emily Dickinson was alive. We are part of life that is amazing, day by day, each and every day.
Life is startling, life is awe inspiring, and life gives us reasons to do things beyond the normal day to day that we could experience. We have an opportunity to live, each and every day, and make the world an amazing place with us.
As I considered all this, I laughed and smiled and you should do as we ride this roller coaster. I saw the world unfold in front of me, and I knew, it was good.
So as the sun sets on another day, look for inspiration. Find an author that is amazing, look for inspiration in them. Look for inspiration in song, in sound, in photographs, in art, but find the inspiration to overcome and be better. Find the inspiration to be not only startling but an inspiration to others. Find the inspiration to walk forward and make this world the best place it can be, no matter what.
