For a few pence…

The sun sets on another day…

What price.

Most people have probably read Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book. There are a ton of good stories in it, but we will visit Riki Tiki Tavi for a moment. After all is said and done, and it comes down to the last cobra a question is asked, “What price a snakes egg?” Now, the question is tough because there is a much larger story that you can find here, but the thought I have today is what do we hold deer to us? Is it the car in the driveway, the dollar in our pocket, or the moment with our child or friend? It is a tough question, right? Many will say they cannot live without something, but far too many think that they can always find that something tomorrow, or the next day, and quite honestly, we can’t guarantee anything. Today should be our focus and the focus should be on what is really important. We can’t give our lives away for a few pence.

I do not pretend to understand how everyone sees their lives, nor do I pretend to know everything about anything, instead I can just say that I feel strongly family should be the at the top of our list when we consider time. Or if you are a Monty Python fan, Family and an undying loyalty to the Pope. (Well, nobody expects the Spanish inquisition) In reality, we have only one life, and our process should be to make it as awesome as we can, not just for us, but for those around us.

So think about it, what price a moment with a child, what price a moment with family, what price a pizza for a friend, there is no price, instead it is just the way it should be. Take away the cars, and the money and everything else, and that part should still be there, the part where we enjoy being around each other, and find happiness in our friends and family.

So as the sun sets on another day, well, enjoy it. Find someone to enjoy it with, and really enjoy it, and as you do, enjoy every moment you can, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, smile, and hug your kid today…
