Powerful Perspectives…

The sun sets on another day…

To the west the clouds held fast and the drizzling rain still fell, but it was only rain, and in the end there was a warm fire, and an early nap to make the day feel better.

I have found myself looking at perspectives all day, considering past, present, and future. So many people are out there that see things so many different ways. Not one or two, but a multitude of ways that sometimes intersect and sometimes do not. I have seen people hurt by points of view, uplifted by points of view and those who make decisions based on their points of view that may or may not be valid. We all have perspectives. We have to try to see the other side.

So, it starts with a joke. The bear went over the mountain, the bear, well, went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain, to see what he could see. Right? So what do you think he saw. Well, considering the bear in this case can see he saw exactly what the song says he saw, the other side of the mountain. So as we look at this, the bears goal was to see a different point of view, and what he got, was the other side of the mountain. Now we don’t know if it was the same or different, but it was another side, so maybe it is a good thing, or maybe not, we do know that the other side of the mountain is where he probably stayed, because another song was not written to bring him back, well, as far as I know.

Why play with words on a children’s song? It is simple, we all are in this world together, and we need to find ways to realize that in the end, we may get to see the other side of the mountain. Sure, there are other things out there, differing opinions and powerful perspectives on them all, but in the end, one side of the mountain is simply adjacent to the other side of the mountain, and the mountain is still the same in the center. Food for thought, or nonsensical allegory? You decide, it is all a matter of perspective.

So as the sun sets on another day, your perspectives are powerful. Let them shine. I hope you find a way each and every day to see more than just from your view, but encompass them all, and in the process, see a little bit more of the mountain, and a whole lot more.

Sleep sweet, climb high, and soar as far as the wind will carry you…
