The sun sets on another day…
Well, tonight and today I spent over 2 extra hours driving in near blizzard conditions. Tonight we will explore the depths of cold and set records, and tomorrow, well, more records. Are they important? Maybe, but maybe we need to look at other records.
There are so many things we should look at daily while we are focused on the ones that are transient. We focus on how many inches of snow we will get, but not how many inches of snow will melt. We look closely at how long it is until work ends, but don’t pay as much attention to how much time we have with someone. We miss people when they are gone, but don’t think about how many iced teas they drank in the morning. Yes, perhaps none of this seems important, but maybe if we look at little closer at the little things that are happening around us we will see a bigger picture.
So how can we assure our picture is the right picture?
That’s a good question. Maybe it is the right picture for us. Maybe we need to take a moment and look at the hows and the whys of each day and see what we are focused on, and focus on those things that will improve our standing with, ready, ourselves! Are we doing what we believe in, what is right for us and for the people around us? Are we just looking at a short term picture or a picture that will make us happy further than today.
I know, II say a lot to focus on today, but we have to have a little bit of yesterday that we learn from, and a bit of tomorrow to build on and make happen.
So as the sun sets on another day, take a moment. Consider all those fun things that we see daily and what they may mean to you, perhaps to others. Do something nice for you, and perhaps for others. In the process find your way to a happier place and maybe a little more. Build on that, make it yours, and make the world a better place, no matter what.
