A fraction of a second…

The sun sets on another day…

No, the sunset tonight snuck in and snuck out quickly. The wild winds moving clouds so fast that there were only glimpses of moments.

Yesterday as I sat in the car waiting I silently watched the rain. It was peaceful and easy until the flash of light and clap of thunder came at once. We all know that means the strike was very very close, like a few blocks away, and I saw the line in the back of my eyes for a while as I thought about how fast it happened,

You know, the world can change in a fraction of a second. The things that are before us can be changed, made better, or taken away without warning. We are not always in control of what happens, how it happens, when it happens, or how it will happen. We do have a choice on how it will affect us all the time as we can choose to be positive, be negative, or go somewhere in between.

I often sit back and wish I could change some of the ways I have reacted in the past. I have been put in situations I have felt out of control where I should have fought harder. I have been in some that I should have waled away from, and I have been in some I should have waited longer to take any sort of action. Sometimes things happen so fast we don’t know what to do, but if we stop just for the fraction of a second to take a breath, we can often find that thing that takes us down the right path. We can often find a way to solve even uncomfortable situations.

When something weird happens, don’t just lash out,. Don’t believe everything that is thrown before you, instead, take a breath, evaluate, and make a good decision. Don’t wait to long, don’t go to fast, make it just right. It may just work.

So as the sun sets on another day, as lightning struck, I smiled, laughed and watched for more. What else was there to do? Sometimes you just have to enjoy the ride as chaos is around you, but always do you best to enjoy the moments, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and think positive…
