The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was, well, wow. That is a good way to say it. The roads were packed with people backed in watching sunset from their cars. Each of these people we sharing an amazing scene, and an outstanding moment. As the sun began to set, people watched in fascination, and after it set, they scattered to the winds, heading home again.
As I took pictures of the sunset tonight I happened to glance at the truck behind me, there a young woman was lost in an almost panic in her truck, trying to find something, and trying to hold herself together. She looked forlorn and lost, and occasionally glanced at the sunset, almost calmed, then began doing things again. I was curious, but stayed quiet and considered the look she had, one of sadness, of near despair, and then I thought “Why not” as the world is in a near state of despair. The world is in a different state than it has been in some time.
Why should we be lost in this emotion that clearly is not a positive one? Well, why indeed? Quite a few people see the bad in the world more easily. It seems to have a spotlight on it. Every action seems to elicit a worse reaction until there seems to be no way out. I am not going to get into research on despair and depression, if you are feeling super depressed or filled with despair, stop reading, turn off your computer and call help. If it is not that bad yet, consider the way to destroy despair, find the positives in your life, and focus on them. Yeah, I know, easier said than done. You can do it though. Look for one positive and let it fill you, then another, then another. Soon you will be looking for the positives instead of the negatives. Perhaps that would be the change necessary.
As for the girl behind me in the truck, she looked up and I smiled, she smiled back, and stopped for a minute to watch the sunset. I am sure it was the sunset, but she kept smiling as the fiery globe passed the terminator and began the evening. I smiled again, took a few more pictures and left. A small victory for positivity, but maybe the sunset gives a little bit of life to us all if we pay attention.
So as the sun sets on another day, if you need help please find it, otherwise look to the positives in life, and drive the doubt and despair from your life. There is always today and now to make changes, and as you see better things, tomorrow will bring a new chance at making it even better. Live for that, and stop for a second and watch the sunset. It will feel good, and perhaps you can send me a picture to put here. I got some super ones from friends tonight I will use soon. Be happy in the end, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love deeply, and never let go…
