The sun sets on another day…
I was thinking a lot today about how we approach life. How we approach each other, and how we all fit together. As the sun set in the western sky it was a spectacular show, but today I thought about lighthouses as much.
You would think it would be common sense to be a light for others if you can do so. You would think it would make serious sense for us all to lift each other up all the time. Well, it does. I could rant and rave about all the people who say one thing and do another. I could slide serious slaps to those who promise and then fade away, but I won’t. Instead let’s focus on those people who are there no matter what. Those people that say they will be there, and then like magic they are there. Those are the lighthouses we should focus on in our life. We should be looking for the lights and not the darkness. We should be looking for truth, not searching out the lies. We should be mindful of love, and not embrace hate.
Take a moment, laugh a minute, then be the light for someone else. It doesn’t take much. Tell a joke, laugh with someone, listen, smile, listen some more, then just be there. You don’t have to be a star to be a light, even a firefly can light a path, and guess what, if we all shine little lights it will get brighter. It is easy to get pulled into all the sidelines and silliness that abounds right now. How about we start by looking at a flower, reading a good book, or telling a fun story. Let’s set aside the hate, and be something more.
So as the sun sets on another day, some people make it easy to pick on them, but when you do, you are just as much a negative as they. Why not look for the positives and set aside the negatives completely. Why not make the world a place where Superman’s truth, justice, and the american way are more than just words. Be a positive light in the world, you know what, it will mean something, if only to you. Thanks for being you and I hope you had a good day today, no matter what.
