Little notes…

The sun sets on another day…

Sunset was spectacular, and the skies shimmered with nervous energy. It was good, it was great, just wow!

Christmas. I have been thinking a great deal about it. I remember watching Charlie Browns Christmas when I was younger and specifically the part where Linus explained the true meaning of Christmas. It was touching and in the cartoon was quiet and honored. It meant something.

In just a few days it will be Christmas again. It will be a happy holiday and a day that has meaning to many, memories to many, and will bring varied emotions to people all over the world. Just what does it mean to you?

I remember talking about special Christmases once. Someone I knew well left themselves a note thinking a massive change would come to their life. A year later they found the note and their heart was heavy as the prophecy they foretold did not come to pass. Instead an entirely different reality came to be, and in the process a different set of challenges. I was saddened when I heard this and listened and considered how sometimes things do not go the way they should.

At the same time I know there are many people who are getting what they want this year and have lived a good life where many great things have come to pass. I wonder if they too left reminders in the Christmas decorations that lifted them up higher.

Have you ever done something like this? Given yourself a future pep talk or pseudo time capsule? How do you handle each Christmas? Is it a measure of your life?

For me, I will remember each Christmas, good and not as good, back to when I was 2 and remembered my first Christmas with my mother and father. Many since have been filled with positives, and some we not so positive. Still, each one gave me a lesson and a point to take forward as hopefully you have as well. I hope your god ones far outnumber your bad and you have found passion each year that has made you consider the true meaning of the holiday season.

So as the sun sets on another day, it is a good year. With a new grandson and new excitement, several new books, and a lot of fun. True, Covid got us all down but i believe people will find the positives in life if they look for them, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and banana cream pie..
