Common ground…

The sun sets on another day…

Today was a good day filled with (you guessed it) clouds and rain. I was quite amazed at the sunset in my imagination and enjoyed the passing to the night.

I was thinking a great deal today about all the conflict running around right now. In some ways conflict is good as it creates change in its very nature, but in many ways conflict is full of, well, conflict. I tend to see far too much right now as people just won’t see past themselves. Maybe it is time to start.

Einstein once said “Peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding” and I will settle there for a moment. I try each day to see not only my point of view, but everyone’s point of view that I can. This is not because I am wishy washy or do not stand for my views, it is because I know I am constantly evolving. I know that each day there is a new and exciting challenge for me to understand and a way to grow, not stagnate, in my beliefs.

Where do you stand? Are you open to new ideas even if you do not originally agree with them? Can you see past your own views and to the concepts and ideas of others? Are you rigid in your views, too stoic to see the possibilities beyond your perspectives?

Peace is a gift, and in peace we can find a little bit of fun. Perhaps all we need to do is open our eyes and understand that our view is built from our bias, and the world is a lot bigger than our bias, right?

So as the sun sets on another day, wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy ourselves always? Wouldn’t it be a great day if we could open our hearts and minds to any possibility, even that we thought was impossible? Open your mind and realize that we are not against each other but instead we are all opportunities to learn from our conflict, and find a peace inside each day, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, love life, and find a way…
