The sun sets on another day…
It was a stunning sunset again, and no I wasn’t surprised but I was happy and even joyous at the light show I got to witness. Beauty is more than just a word it’s an experience.
I haven’t looked it up yet, but once upon a time I wrote about the movie Holy Man. Even though it wasn’t one of Eddie Murphy’s highest grossing movies, I felt it showed a depth of range that most people could never see. Eddie Murphy played a holy man in search of a pilgrimage. He appreciated everything and in doing so tried to help one person.
At the center of the movie he helps someone get over the fear of flying. His approach is to let them face their own demise. He hypnotizes them and sets the situation up where they are about to die and in that moment instead of being afraid they are thankful for all they ever had. At the moment he makes a statement that says the person is appreciative of the life they have been given.
Think about that for a minute. Are you appreciative of the life you have been given? Do you understand just how lucky you are? It’s a tough question. It’s something that we really need to consider because the chances of us being alive even from the point of conception are staggering. We need to be appreciative of it all.
So as the sun sets on another day, be thankful. I can’t say much more than that. You are the best you and the only you that will ever be. Be happy with your life for moment to moment. Find a path that will make you whole and in doing so find a way to happiness always. You can do this, no matter what.
