The sun sets on another day…
It was a stunning sunset and the setting sky gave way to a series of highlighted clouds that looked like amazing scenes from an orchestra. Well, I thought they did as I saw a horn and player in the sky calling out to us all.
A lot of times when I go to breakfast it is at the front counter. It’s faster, more efficient, and I get to talk to people. That last part is especially important because I like to talk to people. No ulterior motives except it’s enjoyable and there’s always interesting stories.
Today I talked to a young woman who was starting a business and it just happened to align with something I needed. I need to reinforce some areas around the property and I need a skid steer or a tractor and guess what she and her husband were starting a place that rented skid steers and tractors. It was a stroke of luck for me.
There are a lot of people in the world that would have walked by. There are a lot of people in the world that wouldn’t have paid attention. But that’s not me. Another moment, another connection, and potentially another successful business.
Do you talk to people? Do you reach out and enjoy those people around you or do you just let everything fall to the side? How is it when you engage? Do you ever feel you miss out when you don’t?
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s a good day. It might even be a great day. Mostly at today that I learned something new and made a new connection. Make good connections everyday, and enjoy the moments, no matter what.
