The sun sets on another day…
The sky is parted as the storms bounced in and out and for a moment there was a sunset that we could all see, as that passed the beauty of the night came upon us with a rumbling of the Thunder in the distance.
There was a movie once that tried to push us towards being more thankful. In it the main character talked about being sad about not having shoes until he met a man with no feet and in a series of events was constantly trying to build the positivity of the people around him. I enjoyed the movie and the approach that it took towards making us appreciate what we had and what we could have.
Someone wise said to me very recently that if something is a problem in your life you have to decide if it’s time to get rid of it. Of course we can apply that to a whole lot of stuff but the big thing here used to think about what our problems really are I guess for me if I have a rock in my shoe I don’t throw the shoe away I pour the rock out.
Shouldn’t that be the way that we all are? If we know there is a problem and we have identified that problem why don’t we just pour it out? What possible positives can come out of something that makes us miserable? If we say that rock helps out our shoe we are just deluding ourselves. If we think we need that rock for whatever reason but we know how bad it hurts what in the world are we thinking?
It is up to us to define our day in the most effective way we can, each and every day. It is not up to us two make anyone else miserable but instead create situations where we can achieve positivity. Sometimes that’s difficult, and sometimes it means letting people go or letting things go that we thought were helping but were actually hurting us. Sometimes it’s just finding a way to make that rock work effectively, but it is not to be abused or annihilated by the rock.
In the end it is all our choice and we define ourselves always.
So as the sun sets on another day, sticks and stones inside my shoes can really hurt my toes, but when I toss them to the ground I get rid of all my woes. Sticks and stones can always hurt and make me feel so sad, but when they’re gone and I’m alone I find out I feel glad. Yes yes, a silly made-up rhyme but I thought I would have some fun with it. Make sure that you empty your shoes before you go for a walk, and be amazing every day, no matter what.
