The sun sets on another day…
Sunset was sublime, but the night sky shone like a crimson cape over the edge of twilight. As I got off a bus, I stopped for a moment and just stared, and for that moment I was lost in thought, only to find my way back to the beauty of it all.
I was engaged in conversation today with an exciting and amazing group of people. They came from all over, and somewhere in the midst of it all I began asking their superpower, what it was that made them unique, made them see further, feel impassioned. No, I did not word it like that, I watched and listened and was fascinated. I became even more engaged as I listened to the seamstress, the cook, the baker, the golfer and French Horn player, the Bass player that loved to rap, and the singer.
We all have a special talent inside. Something that makes us unique or drives us to do more. It is finding that talent that pushes us higher, that shows us a light that not everyone can see. It is baring a piece of our soul that others can feel with us. I have said many times that there is no grave that says what a good worker we are instead we are remembered for how we touch lives, and live our life.
I could not see everyone but I wanted to share two things. My best friend wrote many songs and has shared some of them. I am proud of him for putting himself out there. There is a video here.

Then again, I know authors all over Michigan and the world, that too share their soul, and try to make the world not just a technology trap but a doorway into the imagination. Many of them are going to Once Upon a Book and will be there with me. You can see that here.
There are so many talented and amazing people. They are willing to take a chance not just for themselves, but for all of us, to open our hearts and our minds, and give us a new moment to cherish. Be one of those people and break the barriers that hold you, and in the process open a new door.
So as the sun sets on another day, consider the moments before us. If we only have 29000 sunsets, how are you spending yours? Are you doing what you love and loving what you are doing? Are you changing the world, or is the world changing you. Take a moment, see more, be more, and make today the best day ever, no matter what.
