Not to be taken lightly…

The sun sets on another day…

I had another post ready for today, detailing how we should care, or sometimes not care, but I was thinking tonight as I watched the sun set in the evening sky, that writers as a whole are people not to be taken lightly.

After a good discussion today I let everything sink in, and if you think about it, writers are pretty much running the world. They compose speech after speech, offer up the solution’s for complex situations, deal with social issues on both sides, and truly inspire or uninspire everyone around them.

Today I listened to a story about a writer who wrote specifically about World War 2, and was a series expert. As I listened I learned she was working on a book, and had done a documentary. The reason for the book, she has seen documentaries that she knows are wrong, and wants to set the record straight. As a writer one of the biggest compliments I can get is that I portrayed something accurately, which I do extensive research on. So I make sure everything is as close to perfect as I can without the experience. The writer felt the same way and I applaud their tenacity at making things right.

So, as the sun sets on another day. Writers as a whole should not be taken lightly, as most of the good and bad you read and watch is being generated by writers. By the same token, writers should not take their words lightly, for you never know when someone is watching, and you need to be sure you are making things right. Either way, as readers or writers, keep reading, keep writing, and keep living for truth, no matter what.

Sleep sweet, write something, and enjoy this wonderful night…
