The sun sets on another day…
I watched sunset slowly crawl over the horizon and pounce upon us all. The yellows and golds mixed with reds, and the sky was alive as a storm slowly rolled in and sprayed rain across the horizon.
It’s not your fault, it’s not my fault, it’s asphalt. Yes, I giggled and laughed at that and thought that it was funny playing with words. Wordplay is exciting for me and having something mean multiple things is a bit of fun.
As I’m driving around, making my car scream at the idea of adding more miles to it, I find myself fascinated by everything I know so well.
If you have driven a road many many times, do you remember it all? As the road evolves do you still see the old road or do you adapt to the new?
It’s kind of an easy question, and I think that everybody should pay attention, not only to the question but to the answer. The question allows us to remember the old but adapt to the new. That’s something we always need to do.
Do you adapt to everything new as it’s coming at you or do you get lost in the old and not pay so much attention? Do you ever take that step backwards and consider if you need to pay more attention to the past? Is the future always a better choice?
Maybe the solution is to do both and to learn from it all. Maybe the solution is to find the way to be true to yourself.
So as the sun sets on another day, it’s not your fault. Pay attention, it’s my fault. Maybe I’m the ass, and it’s asphalt. Be you, and love the you that you become always, no matter what.
Sleep sweet, love life, and find a way…
